Ingredients
3 ounces Gin
1 tablespoon sugar or powdered(or simple syrup)
3 tablespoons lemon juice
handful of ice cubes (3 -4)
Club Soda or Carbonated WaterA Gin Fizz is the lemon’s answer to the Gin Gimlet. This gin mixed drink is perhaps the adult version of lemonade. Too bad it can’t be sold at lemonade stands!
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, one of the earliest mentions of this classic drink was in 1891, in the “Month” with this small statement: “You take your luncheon-snack..or ‘*gin-fiz’.” Now a Gin Fizz for lunch…. don’t give me any ideas!
Directions:
Shake all ingredients except for carbonated water and strain over a few ice cubes in a highball glass. Top off with carbonated water. Garnish with a lemon twist.
